INET RESEARCH GRANT PROGRAM in Economics

The Institute for New Economic Thinking is calling for new research proposals in areas of vital importance to the field of economics to start off our second grants cycle.
We are looking for high-impact proposals from the next generation of economic thinkers who can help INET revitalize economics and change the economics profession for the better. We are particularly interested in getting proposals from outside the United States and Europe, and from scholars outside economics in related fields such as political science, sociology, history and the physical sciences.

The subject matter we are most interested in is roughly the same as in the Inaugural Grants Cycle, which you can review in related links, but we are especially interested in proposals focused on:
- Sources and remedies of financial instability;
- Institutional design for radical (Knightian) uncertainty;
- Political economy of the state and public goods provision;
- Political economy of income and wealth distribution;
- Corporate governance in an age of economic globalization;
- Human capability and economic development;

We understand that new economic thinking can come from anywhere and so we remain open to grant proposals outside these areas and from people outside academia, though the awards will primarily go to individuals or teams affiliated with academic institutions, think tanks and other research centers.
