World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA): Research Programme

Funding is given for research to combat doping in sport through the identification of new trends in doping, new drugs, new delivery mechanisms and new methods of detection.

For the 2022 call, Higher priority will be granted to proposals addressing:

• Detection or improvement of eptide/protein hormones and other growth factors.
• Improved window (retrospectivity) of detection for prohibited substances/methods.
• Thresholds or limits to distinguish permitted from prohibited use, and natural sources versus intended use or presence in food residues.
• Evaluation of the long-term cellular and physiological effects of use of prohibited substances.
• Detection of autologous blood transfusion, including proteomic biomarker discovery, validation of candidate biomarkers or molecular signatures.
• The Athlete Biological Passport (ABP), including new biomarkers of doping or confounding factors relevant to the hematological, steroidal or endocrine modules.
• Selected certified reference material synthesis.

Funding: not mentioned. No overhead.
