Samsung: Global Research Outreach (GRO) Programme

The 2021 GRO Programme is seeking proposals in 10 research themes, with associated specified challenges:

1. Novel Analog Device for Energy Efficient Computing:

• Materials Research for Analog Computing.
• Device Research for Analog Computing.

2. 3D Monolithic Integration:

• Novel Semiconductor materials for 3D monolithic integration.

3. Bio-Inspired Vision and Imaging Technologies:

• Bio-Inspired Vision and Imaging Technologies.

4. Machine Intelligence:

• Machine Learning Generalisation in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

5. Neural Scene Representation:

• Implicit Neural Representation, Neural Radiance Field & Rendering.

6. Advanced Metrology & Inspection, Technology for Semiconductor, Fabrication Process:

• Next-generation Computational Imaging Technique for semiconductor wafer metrology and inspection.

7. Fundamental technology for semiconductor equipment:

• Environment-independent Non-contact High Temperature Measurement Technology.

8. 6G communication and sensing:

• Integrated photonics for optical sensing and wireless communication.

9. Organic Photodiode with Triplet State:

• Improvement of efficiency and response time.
• Clarifying mechanism of charge transport.

10. CO2 Capturing and Utilisation:

• New technology for CO2 Capturing and conversion.

Funding: up to $150,000 per year for 1-3 years.
