ISF: Individual Research Grants

Pre-registration to ISF online is required for each program separately. Registration should be completed by 25.10, 13:00 Noon. Deadline for RA submission: 1.11

ISF accepts applications for basic research. Grants are given to 1-4 investigators for up to 4 years (5 years in social, life sciences and medicine).

Proposals are evaluated for scientific excellence: [1] Originality & innovation, [2] Significance & implications, [3] Adequacy of methods, and [4] Suitability of investigators’ scientific background (see review instructions: https://www.isf.org.il/#/judging-process ).

Funding: No formal limit. Average annual budgets, in exact sciences and technology are NIS 256,000, in life sciences and medicine NIS 282,000, in humanities NIS 140,000, and in social sciences NIS 170,000.

Research Infrastructures Accessibility: Additional funding Possibility of NIS 70,000 for the use of existing research infrastructures in universities.

Data Science in Social Sciences (part of the Personal Research Grants Program):

Research should be based on the collaboration of at least two researchers. Research fields must include at least one researcher from the field of social sciences and at least one researcher from the field of data science (statistics, computer science, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, information systems). Winners will receive an enlarge grant by up to 35% than the average grant amount in that year. Further information can be found here.
