Development Grant
Aid to develop a pilot study or main grant eg methodological advice (epidemiologist, biostatistician), discussion with collaborators, formal literature review, translate outcome measures or test the feasibility of trial material.
Funding: up to €10,000

Pilot Grant
Aid to develop a robust pilot study to seek major (main grant) funding. The study design may be longitudinal cohort, clinical trial or laboratory experiment and should include a model for the research suggested as well as demonstrate the importance of the topic.
* The application should justify the methodology used (outcome instruments, statistical analysis, limitations and bias), and explain what the pilot intends to achieve.
Funding: up to €30,000 for up to 1 year

Main Grant
The main grant offers funding to carry out formal experimental or observational studies answering a specific clinical or a basic science question. The study design must be robust and appropriate for the question.
Funding: up to €100,000 for up to 3 years

The applicant or at least one member of the research team must be a member of EUROSPINE.
