Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research: Multiple opportunities – Pre-proposals

Target Advancement: seeks to build robust evidence to rationalize biological pathways and targets for further translation into new Parkinson's treatments.

Funding:  $150,000 for 12- to 18-month.

Therapeutic Pipeline Program: supports therapeutic development along the pre-clinical and clinical path (both drug and non-pharmacological therapeutics).

Funding: Pre-Clinical: $100,000-$500,000, for 1-2 years.

Clinical: $1-2 million, for 2-3 years.

Outcome Measures: develop or optimize imaging, clinical/non-invasive, or biochemical biomarkers are appropriate for this RFA. Particular emphasis will be on projects that explore relationships between physiologic and biochemical biomarkers.

Funding: Up to $750,000 for 1-3 years.

Epidemiological Datasets to Identify Risk and Protective Factors for Parkinson's Disease: Seeks to support studies using large, existing epidemiological datasets to identify factors that decrease the risk of Parkinson's disease (PD). The purpose of this program is to identify factors such as lifestyle behaviors (e.g., diet and exercise) or use of pharmacological or other medical interventions that decrease the risk of PD and could be used to develop prevention and/or treatment approaches.

Funding: up to $500K for 1-2 years.
