2018 ATS Foundation Unrestricted Grants: Up to 15 unrestricted grants will be awarded in 2018. 3 grants will be awarded in each of the three pillars: pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. The remaining 9 grants will be awarded to the top scored projects regardless of submitted category

ATS Foundation/Alpha-1 Foundation Research Grant:

The focus of this research grant is proposals that have a high likelihood to advance the understanding of Alpha-1.

Funding: $40,000 for 2 years.

ATS Foundation/Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Research Fellowship in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

The focus of this research grant is proposals that advance research in the area of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis

Funding: $50,000 for 2 years.

ATS Foundation/chILD Foundation Research Grant

The focus of this research grant is to advance the understanding of the pathophysiology of this rare disease. Examples include research addressing the cell biology of neuroendocrine cells in the lung, interactions between neuroendocrine cells and other cells of the airway or alveoli, the relationship between neuroendocrine cells and signs/symptoms of NEHI, or other studies that further advance the understanding, diagnosis, or treatment of this rare disease.

Funding: $50,000 for 1 year

ATS Foundation/Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Ltd. Research Award in Respiratory Award in Respiratory Support with Nasal High Flow (NHF) in Patients with COPD

The focus of this research grant is proposals that advance research in respiratory support with nasal high flow (NHF) in patients with COPD.

Funding: $50,000 per year for 2 years.

ATS Foundation/Insmed Research Award in Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) Lung Disease

The focus of this research grant is proposals that advance research in the area of non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) lung disease.

Funding: $50,000 for 1 year.

ATS Foundation/Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals Inc. Research Fellowship in Sarcoidosis

The focus of this research grant is proposals that advance research in the area of sarcoidosis

Funding: $40,000 per year for 2 years.

ATS Foundation/Pulmonary Hypertension Association Research Fellowship

The focus of this research grant is to support research into the pathophysiology of PAH, toward elucidating mechanistic pathways and identifying novel therapeutic targets or biomarkers in adult or pediatric pulmonary hypertension.

Funding: $40,000 per year for 2 years.

The Aldrighetti Research Award for Young Investigators

The focus of this research grant is to support the career of a young investigator who is likely to make a strong and sustained impact in PAH research.

Funding: $40,000 per year for 2 years.

ATS Foundation/ResMed Research Fellowship in Sleep Disordered Breathing and PAP Therapy

The focus of this research grant is proposals that advance research in sleep disordered breathing and PAP therapy and have potential applicability to human airway diseases

Funding: $50,000 per year for 2 years.
