NSF-BSF-NIH Joint Program in Computational Neuroscience (CRCNS)

Applications must involve a computational aspect, but can also involve empirical work. The competition is open to neuroscientists and other scientists who are not classical computational neuroscientists, if they are engaged in appropriate collaborations and their study is relevant to the program. Research projects must be grounded in Biology. Please note that the term “data sharing” may be somewhat misleading, and projects that develop new tools for computational neuroscience are central to this part of the solicitation.

Please read carefully the NSF solicitation document in order to understand the nature of the program.

Funding: for the Israeli partner- up to $70,000 / yr for experimental studies and $40,000/yr for theoretical and computer based studies for 3 years. The U.S. partner should contact the appropriate NSF program manager to discuss the research focus of the international project. Israeli scientist with pending or active BSF-NSF grants are not allowed to submit (regular BSF grant is OK).
