U.S. DOD/OSD: Minerva Initiative for research of Defense Social Science- White Papers

The Office of Naval Research is interested in receiving proposals for the university-based social science research program initiated by the Secretary of Defense to promote a candid and constructive relationship between DoD and the social science academic. Innovative proposals related to these research topics are

OSD is seeking university-led fundamental research of the social and cultural forces shaping U.S. strategic interests globally:

* Contributors to Societal Resilience and Change Governance and rule of law Migration and urbanization; Populations and demographics; Environment and natural resources; Economics

* Power and Deterrence Global order, Power projection and diffusion, Beyond conventional deterrence, Area studies

* Innovations in National Security, Conflict, and Cooperation

Funding: $150 K/year to $1.0 M/year over 3-5 years.
