•          Prevent breast cancer (primary prevention)

•          Determine whysome, but not all, women get breast cancer
•          Distinguish aggressivebreast cancerfrom indolentcancers
•          Conquertheproblems ofoverdiagnosis and overtreatment
•          Identifywhat drives breast cancergrowth; determinehowto stop it
•          Identifywhysomebreastcancers becomelife-threateningmetastasis
•          Determine why/howbreast cancer cells laydormant foryearsand then re-emerge (recurrence); determinehowto prevent recurrence
•          Revolutionize treatment regimens by replacing interventions that have life-threatening toxicities with ones that are safe and effective
• Eliminate the mortality associated with metastatic breast cancer.
