תיאור כללי:

HPC-Europa2 (pan European infrastructure on high- performance computing) is calling for applications from researchers working in Europe to visit any of the 7 centers in its Transnational Access program.

Objective:
Visitors will use HPC-Europa2's High Performance Computing (HPC) facilities to improve the quality of their research, while working in collaboration with a scientific researcher from an appropriate local research institute.

The program, which is fully funded by the European Commission FP7, offers visiting European researchers:
- Access to some of the most powerful (HPC) facilities in Europe;
- HPC consultancy from experienced staff;
- Opportunities to collaborate with scientists working in related fields at a relevant local research institute;
- Travel costs, subsistence expenses and accommodation (may be in a shared flat).

Successful applicants will visit for between one and three months, during the period from two to six months after the call closing date.

Disciplines:
All fields of computational sciences will be supported, such as:
Theoretical Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Material Sciences, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Astrophysics, Meteo-climatology, Computer Science, Numerical Analisys, Numerical Methods in Engineering, Bio-engineering, Computational Chemistry, Molecular Modelling, Genomics and Proteomics, Computational Biology and Life sciences, as well as disciplines new to HPC, such as Cultural Heritages applications and Virtual Archaeology and more ...

Access Sites:
Cineca (Italy) - Developing advanced Information Technology applications and services
EPCC (UK) - a leading European centre of expertise in advanced research, technology transfer and the provision of supercomputer services to academia and business.
BSC (Spain) – Barcelona Supercomputing Center
HLRS (Germany) - The High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart
GENCI (France) - Grand Equipement National de Calcul Intensif
SARA (Netherlands) - Computing and Networking Services
CSC (Finland) - IT Center for Science

Eligibility:
Applications for the program are welcomed from academic or industrial researchers at any level, from senior postgraduate students to the most senior researchers, who are working on non-proprietary research in any discipline to which access to HPC facilities is beneficial.
Note that researchers are NOT eligible for visits to centers in the country where they are currently carrying out their research.
