Alpha-1 Foundation: In-Cycle Grant Opportunities - LOI

Pilot and Feasibility Grant – Objective: to encourage the development and testing of new hypotheses and/or new methods in research areas relevant to AAT Deficiency. Funding: up to $40K for 1 year.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Grant - Objective to provide support for postdoctoral research fellows who are starting their research careers and are working in the laboratories of established researchers or conducting research with the mentorship of established researchers or who intend to pursue a career in AAT research, who will be focusing 50% of their time to AAT Deficiency research or clinical practice. Funding: up to $50K / yr for up to 2 yrs.

Research Grant – Objective: to encourage the development of new information that contributes to the understanding of the basic biology of AAT expression, and the pathogenesis/management of AAT Deficiency, or to projects that provide insight into the development of information that may contribute to new therapies for AAT Deficiency. Funding: up to $100K / yr for up to 2 yrs.

Scientific Meeting Sponsorship Grant - approx. $5K

Travel Grant – approx. $1K.
