Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute (FAMRI): Effect of Second Hand Tobacco Smoke Exposure on Respiratory Diseases – LOI

FAMRI is interested in clinical and translational research from basic molecular mechanisms of disease to occupational health. This year the subjects are limited to:
* Chronic sinusitis, including cilia abnormalities or alterations
* Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema
Clinical Innovator Award: up to $100,000 per year, for up to 3 years.
Young Clinical Scientist Award/Fellow - Eligible are scientists that currently conducting research and have completed at least one year of a full-time research fellowship, but have not yet transitioned to a faculty position and do not expect to do so before July 1, 2015. Applicant must hold a PhD (or equivalent) on or after May 1, 2007. Funding: $75,000 per year, for 2 years.
Young Clinical Scientist Award/Faculty – Eligible are scientists that currently conducting research and have been a faculty member at the Assistant Professor level or below for three years or less. Faculty applicants are eligible if their appointment occurred between July 1, 2012 and July 1, 2015. Funding: $100,000 per year, for up to 5 years.
