Toyota Foundation Research Grant Program: Exploring New Values for Society

The program provides two frameworks; joint research projects and individual research projects. For both frameworks, the solicitations is for ambitious projects that are founded on creative concepts that reflect a youthful perspective and whose results can help change people's ways of thinking - regardless of their country or region of origin or their social position and circumstances - and can lead to actions that bring about solutions to the issues faced. Examples of projects: natural resources cross-generational ethics, designing social and economic systems for sustainable development, communities revival and social isolation alleviation, appropriate burden sharing resulting from natural and manmade disasters and minimize the risks associated with future disasters, new ideas on conflict resolution, preserve native cultures and histories. Funding: for Joint Research Grant 4 million yen/year ~ $40,000; for Individual Research Grant 1 million yen/year ~ $10,000 for up to 2 years.
