תיאור כללי:

The FY14 SCIRP encourages applications that specifically address one or more of the following areas: Pre-hospital, en route care, and early hospital management of SCI; Development, validation, and timing of promising interventions to address consequences of SCI and to improve recovery, including, but not limited to: Ambulatory and non-ambulatory clinical benefits of exoskeletal systems, Bladder, bowel, and autonomic dysfunction, Cardiometabolic dysfunction, Deep vein thrombosis, Functional deficits, Neuropathic pain and sensory dysfunction, Pressure ulcers, Respiratory dysfunction, Sexual dysfunction. Identification and validation of best practices in SCI care including but not limited to: Critical care interventions, Musculoskeletal health, Rehabilitation interventions, Surgical interventions.
Clinical Trial Award: Fund Phase 0, I, or II clinical trials with the potential to have a major impact on treatment or management of spinal cord injury (SCI) and its consequences. Preliminary data relevant to the proposed trial required for all clinical trial applications; Phase I or pilot clinical data required for Phase II clinical trial applications. Funding: up to $2M for up to 4 yrs
Investigator-Initiated Research Award: Fund SCI-related research that has the potential to make an original and important contribution to the field of research and/or patient care. Option: Applications that include a qualified collaborator Preliminary and/or published data required. Clinical trials not allowed. $500K-$750K for up to 3 yrs
Qualitative Research Award: Fund qualitative research on military Service members and Veterans in the years following SCI. Preliminary and/or published data encouraged but not required. Clinical trials not allowed. Funding: up to $400K for up to 3 yrs
Translational Research Award: Fund studies that accelerate the movement of promising ideas in SCI research into clinical applications Option: Applications that include a qualified collaborator Preliminary and/or published data required. Clinical trials not allowed. Funding: up to $1.5M for up to 3 yrs
