Edward H. Schuchman Research Fellowship: Objective: examining the biology of Acid Sphingomyelinase Deficiency (ASMD; i.e., Types A and B Niemann-Pick Disease). Preference to projects that improve understanding of the biology and pathogenesis of ASMD, projects developing new therapies for ASMD, and for identifying biomarkers to improve diagnosis and monitoring disease progression. Funding: $100K over 2 years.
