The Prize recognizes significant contributions to environmental conservation. Topics are diverse and include: Sustainable development in the Amazon rainforest; Urban regeneration; Recycling; Health and water issues; Renewable energy. Projects should display combination of good science, economic realism and political acceptability. Applications are invited from individuals, multi-disciplinary teams or community groups with the winner receiving $100,000 and $25,000 for two runners-up.
