BSF: JOINT NSF-BSF PROGRAM IN CHEMISTRY - Pre-proposal

The call is limited to applications in Chemistry, as it is defined by the NSF. Applications must be submitted jointly by an Israeli and an American scientist from a U.S. academic institution. In parallel, the U.S scientist should submit (alone) an application to the NSF. Applications will use a two-tier submission process, starting with a short pre-proposal, followed by full proposals of selected applications. Funding: up to $200,000 to the Israeli scientists, usually for 3 years.

* A scientist who is presently holding a regular BSF grant is not permitted to submit an application in this program unless his grant is scheduled to end no later than 2014. (Please make sure that your U.S. collaborator does not hold a more recent BSF grant!).
* A scientist who holds a BSF grant in one of the special programs (Transformative Science or BSF Energy) is allowed to submit to this program.
* If an investigator is allowed to submit a full proposal to this special program, and chooses to do so, he will not be allowed to also submit a regular BSF application in the 2013 round. Results of the pre-proposal are expected before 7.10.
