Alpha-1 Foundation: AAT Deficiency Research Grants – Letter of Intent

* Bridge Grant is to provide support for excellent Alpha-1 Antitrypsin (AAT) Deficiency-related research projects that have been submitted to and approved by the NIH, but cannot be supported by the available NIH funds. Funding: $25K for 1 year.
* Pilot and Feasibility Grant is to provide funds to encourage the development and testing of new hypotheses and/or new methods in research areas relevant to AAT Deficiency. Results from this grant should lead to the submission of applications for funding from other agencies (i.e. NIH). Funding: $40K for 1 year.
* Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Grant is to provide support for postdoctoral research fellows who are starting their research careers and intend to pursue a career in AAT research. Funding: $50K/year, 2 years.
* Research Grant is to provide funds to encourage the development of new information that contributes to the understanding of the basic biology of AAT expression, the pathogenesis/management and new therapies of AAT Deficiency. Funding: $100K/year, 2 years.
