Ministry of Energy and Water Resources: Research Proposals in Energy, Soil and Oceanography

Application extended from 25.7 to 8.8

Research grants for 3 years in Energy, Soil and Oceanography in the following issues (see detailed topics in pages 1-3 of thecall):

- Alternative energy sources, energy saving and efficiency ;

- Water and energy;

- Fossil fuel subsidies and natural resources;

- Environmental aspects in earth and marine sciences; and,

- Earthquakes and seismic hazards.

- Reactors safety (see second link below)

It is possible to submit joint proposals with partners from the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Union in the following subjects: mobility and SG Interoperability / smart grids / energy efficiency / solar devices testing facilities / emission characterization of alternative fuels (see also pages 3, 9). Funding: proposals in the field of Energy are not limited. Average of past budgets was ~155,000 NIS/year. Proposals in Soil and Oceanography fields are limited to 55,000 NIS/year. Higher amounts may be requested only with a special justified request. There is no indication yet on the JRC funding amounts.

* In addition to the usual evaluation criteria, up to 20% will be added for collaboration with industry or with other academic institutions in Israel or abroad (but not JRC).
