DOD-CDMRP: Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) – Pre-applications

The PRMRP program challenges the scientific and clinical communities to address one of the FY13 Topic Areas (listed on the website) with original ideas that foster new directions along the entire spectrum of research and clinical care. The program seeks applications in laboratory, clinical, behavioral, epidemiologic, and other areas of research to advance knowledge in disease etiology, improve detection, diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life for those affected by a relevant disease or condition, and to develop and validate clinical care or public health guidelines.

-Clinical Trial Award: supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials of novel interventions with the potential to have a significant impact on patient care in the topic area of interest. Funding: up to $2.2M in direct costs over 5 years (plus indirect costs).

-Investigator-Initiated Research Award: encourages research that will make an original and important contribution to the field of research or patient care in the topic area of interest. Partnering PI option is available. Funding: up to $750,000 in direct costs over 3 years (plus indirect costs).

-Technology/Therapeutic Development Award: is a product-driven award intended to provide support for the translation of promising preclinical findings into products for clinical applications, including prevention, detection, diagnosis, patient care, and/or quality of life, in at least one of the Congressionally directed FY13 PRMRP Topic Areas. Products in development should be responsive to the health care needs of military service members, Veterans, and/or beneficiaries. Funding: up to $1.5M for direct costs over 3 years (plus indirect costs).
