Spencer Foundation: Education Small Grants

The Foundation's research grants are organized under four areas of inquiry:

- The Relation between Education and Social Opportunity

- Organizational Learning in Schools, School Systems, and Higher Education Systems

- Teaching, Learning, and Instructional Resources

- Purposes and Values of Education

Funding up to $50K.

The Foundation also accepts proposals that do not fit one of the above four areas, through the "Field-Initiated Proposal program" (www.spencer.org/content.cfm/field-initiated-proposals).

The Foundation’s Strategic Initiatives reflect its commitment to specific, measureable investigations that range from five to ten years:

- The New Civics Initiative (funding up to $50K);

- Data Use and Educational Improvement (funding up to $50K);

- Philosophy in Educational Policy and Practice (funding up to $40K).

Applications accepted by 11.2, 16.5, 23.7 and 15.10.

Please note that major grants of above $50K are also being funded: application date is 14.5.
