Alzheimer's Association: International Research Grant Program in AD - LOI

Areas of focus:

* Research in Diverse Populations: Closing the Gap: sociological and anthropological data about AD, families and caregiving in specific cultural, social, and regional contexts to provide a working platform for effective service, education and program delivery;

* Social/Behavioral and Cognitive/Functional Focus: Evaluating Interventions and Translating Knowledge into Practice; and,

* Biological Focus: Causes, Early Detection, Treatment, Models, Prevention and Risk Factors.

The areas are defined broadly, and the examples cited are not intended to preclude or constrain other investigator-initiated projects or proposals.

- New Investigator Research Grant (NIRG): funding up to $100K over 2 years;

- Investigator-Initiated Research Grant (IIRG): funding up to $240K over 3 years;

- Zenith Fellows Award: funding up to $450K over 3 years (min. 2 years);

- Everyday Technologies for Alzheimer Care Grant (ETAC): funding up to $200K over 3 years;

- New Investigator Research Grant to Promote Diversity (NIRGD): funding up to $100K over 2 years;

- Mentored New Investigator Research Grant to Promote Diversity (MNIRGD): funding up to $150K over 3 years;

- Understanding the Development and Devising Treatment for Alzheimer's Disease in Individuals with Down Syndrome (DSAD): funding up to $300K over 3 years (min 2 years).
