International Foundation for Research in Paraplegia: funding opportunities

- Research Grant: Basic and Clinical Research on CNS Regeneration Neuroprotection and Functional Restoration with special emphasis on the spinal cord. Funding: 75,000 Swiss Francs (~ $78K) for 1 year; 150,000 Swiss Francs (~$155K) for 2 years on the basis of scientific quality and relevance to paraplegia for research proposals studying mechanisms of injury and repair, as well as long term recovery. Applications from start up groups are welcome.
- Post-doctoral Fellowship: Basic research in one or several aspects of CNS & spinal cord lesions and repair or Clinical research laboratory of diagnosis & acute lesion management of spinal cord injury and other areas related to paraplegia. A fellowship for up to two years will be allocated with a yearly living allowance of 70,000 Swiss Francs (~$72K) plus a yearly travel and research allowance of up to 9,000 Swiss Francs (~$9.3K) on the basis of scientific quality and relevance to paraplegia for research proposals.
- Schellenberg Prize: Schellenberg Prize for Research will be awarded on the basis of scientific merit to recognize recent achievements in the cellular, molecular and clinical aspects of spinal cord development, plasticity and regeneration following lesions. The Prize sum of 150,000 Swiss Francs (~$155K) is to be used for research purposes (personnel, equipment or supplies) and will be handed over to the winner at an award ceremony.
