DOD-CDMRP: Peer Reviewed Orthopaedic Research Program (PRORP) - Pre-application

- Clinical Trial Award supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials that will have a significant impact on military combat-related orthopaedic injuries. Preliminary data are required. Military/Veteran study population highly encouraged. Funding: $2.5M for up to 5 years.

- Translational Research Partnership Award supports the development of multidisciplinary translational research partnerships between clinicians and laboratory scientists to accelerate the movement of promising research hypotheses into clinical applications. Minimum of 2 PIs required; maximum of 3 PIs allowed. At least one partner must be a laboratory scientist and at least one partner must be a clinician. At least one partner must have significant experience in
orthopaedic research or orthopaedic medicine. Preliminary and/or published data are required. Does not support definitive clinical trials, but limited clinical testing is permissible. All applications must have a direct relevance to orthopaedic injuries sustained during combat or combatrelated activities. Funding: $500K for up to 3 years.

- Idea Development Award: Supports conceptually innovative, high-risk/high gain research. Emphasis is on Innovation and Military Benefit. Preliminary data are not required. Clinical trials not allowed. Funding: $500K for up to 3 years.
