DOD-CDMRP: Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP) - Pre-Application

- Impact Award: Supports research projects (from small- to large-scale) that specifically focus on scientific and clinical breast cancer issues, which, if successfully addressed, will revolutionize the understanding, prevention, and/or treatment of breast cancer and make major advances toward the goal of ending the disease. Applications that focuson poorly understood issues that are of critical significance in breast cancer are strongly encouraged. Funding: $2M over 5 years.
- Innovator Award: supports visionary individuals who have demonstrated creativity, innovative work, and leadership in any field. Funding: $5M over 5 years.
- Clinical Translational Research Award: supports research projects that are likely to have a major impact on breast cancer by applying promising research findings to patients with, or populations at risk for, breast cancer. Applications will be supported in two stages. Stage I will enable completion of preclinical translational studies and Food and Drug Administration approvals (if needed). Stage II will initiate and execute the clinical trial. Funding: $12M over 5 years.
- Transformative Vision Award: supports a coordinated, translational research effort, led by an experienced PI, to achieve a vision for dramatically affecting breast cancer prevention or treatment as quickly as possible. Team must include consumer advocates who will be integrated into the planning and implementation of the research project. Team is expected to have consistent, intensive interactions to engage team members in all aspects of the research project. Funding of $12M over 5 years.
