The goal of both the gene and stem-cell therapies initiative is to support research leading to understanding the potential value of both therapies in the treatment of LGMD2A/calpainopathy. Applications need to demonstrate that appropriate expertise is available in the study and use of these therapies. The goal of the basic science project is to elucidate the pathogenic mechanisms of LGMD2A/calpainopathy.
