ISF-Israeli Center of Research for Petroleum Alternatives for Transportation – "Electric Fuels"

The proposed research center will discover and promote new methods for the development of electric fuel, which methods will allow reaching feasible competitive energy density for commercial use for vehicle propulsion. The challenge at hand is locating economical, user-safe materials that allow long-term, high-density stowing of energy and its reconversion into high-voltage electric energy. This research corresponds to certain aspects of fuel cells for direct conversion of chemical energy into electricity. Funding: Up to NIS 6M per year over a 5-year period.
