USAID’s MERC Program funds peer-reviewed collaborative research projects between Israel and its Arab neighbors. USAID-MERC funds cooperative technical projects in a wide variety of areas, including but not limited to agriculture, health, environment and engineering. Funds may be provided for grants of up to $1 million and up to five years in length, although proposals of more modest size are strongly encouraged and are usually more competitive.
