CDMRP: Peer Reviewed Orthopaedic Research Program (PRORP)

* Clinical Trial Award: Supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials that will have a significant impact on military combat-related orthopaedic injuries in the areas of prevention and treatment of post-traumatic osteoarthritis and improved outcomes for severe limb injuries. Funding: $2.5M over 4 years.
* Technology Development Award: Supports studies for the design, development and demonstration of a modular, interoperable, three-degrees-of-freedom, externally-powered prosthetic wrist with a one-degree-of-freedom terminal device and accompanying control strategies. Funding: of $2M over 4 years.
* Translational Research Partnership Award: Supports the development of multidisciplinary translational research partnerships between clinicians and laboratory scientists to accelerate the movement of promising research hypotheses into clinical applications. Minimum of 2 PIs required; maximum of 3 PIs allowed. At least one partner must be a laboratory scientist and at least one partner must be a clinician. Funfing: $750K over 3 years.
