Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) Initiatives

*Study of modifications of beta cell antigens in the immunopathogenesis and treatment of type 1 diabetes (T1D): Expressions of interest from investigators interested in elucidating the existence of and potential role for beta cell antigen modifications in type 1 diabetes immunopathogenesis. The translational potential of the investigations should be highlighted, priority eill be given to to research plans involving human samples. Collaborations between experts in the fields of T1D, biochemistry, proteomics and other autoimmune diseases are encouraged. We are welcome onvestigators with assays or hypotheses relevant to this initiative. Funfing: $200K/year for 2 years.
*Glucose control: JDRF and the Helmsley Charitable Trust are launching a major initiative of up to $20 Million to accelerate the delivery of accurate and reliable continuous glucose sensors to market which are capable of driving closed loop systems to a euglycemic target.
