Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute: Phased Large Awards for Comparative Effectiveness Research (LOI)

High-quality comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) projects that will address critical decisions faced by patients, caregivers, clinicians, and stakeholders across the health and healthcare community and for which there is insufficient evidence.

Applications must propose research address at least one of the following National Priorities for Health:

• Increase Evidence for Existing Interventions and Emerging Innovations in Health
• Accelerate Progress Toward an Integrated Learning Health System
• Achieve Health Equity

* Foreign organizations may apply, as long as there is demonstrable benefit to the US healthcare system and US efforts in the area of patient-centered research can be clearly shown.

Funding: up to $2 million in direct costs for a feasibility phase up to 18 months, with up to $20 million for continuation to a full-scale study phase up to 5 years.
