Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Awards and Prizes

* Swartz Prize for Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience honors an individual whose activities have produced a significant cumulative contribution, or a particularly noteworthy recent advance to theoretical models or computational methods in neuroscience. Prize of $30K. 

* Ralph W. Gerard Prize honors an outstanding scientist who has made significant contributions to neuroscience throughout his or her career. Prize of $30K. 

* Jacob P. Waletzky Award given to a young scientist (within 15 years of his/her PhD or MD degree) whose independent research has led to significant conceptual and empirical contributions to the understanding of drug addiction. Prize of $30K. 

* Julius Axelrod Prize honors a scientist with distinguished achievements in the broad field of neuropharmacology (or a related area). Nominations of women scientists are encouraged. Prize of $30K. 

* Peter Seeburg Integrative Neuroscience Prize: honors groundbreaking achievements in neuroscience. Nominees must be at least 15 years post-PhD. Nominations of women and historically under-represented groups are strongly encouraged. Prize of $100K.
